DALTON,
GA - Affirming its commitment to an expansion into home accents and the
positive growth of its rug business, LR Resources will be showing for
the first time at both Showplace (3451) and the Suites at Market Square
(M8007). With double the exposure, the company is expecting good
attendance - not just at its own showrooms, but for the market as a
whole. "We've had a very good response to invitations, both personal
and via email, and the traffic we expect mirrors the direction of the
rug business which is building steadily," says Mike Thompson, sales vice
president and general manager, LR Resources.
"Most
of our larger customers are coming, and we've got good appointments with
the majors. But what makes or breaks High Point markets are the
mid-sized and mom and pop stores. We'd like the market to attract more
of them, and we'd like to see more participation from regional stores,"
Thompson explained.
The Naturals collection combines jute fibers with chenille for a
designer look with a retail of $899 in a 9x12 size.

The
company's main showroom at Showplace will focus on rugs. "We will have
some pillows in the rug showroom and some individual examples of the
accessories customers will see in our accents showroom, where we
highlight only natural fibers. We took the second showroom because
people who don't necessarily buy rugs are less likely to shop for
accessories at Showplace."
At the
rug showroom, customers will see a new collection called Glamour. "It's
unique in that it is a very tightly tufted wool and viscose blend. The
content is 80/20 wool and viscose, but the viscose is spun into the
wool. The result is a rug that has a much softer hand, and the texture
is less fuzzy; it has a really tight loop and a dense pile." The Glamour
collection is hand-tufted in India; retail is $399 for a 5x8 rug.
For High
Point, LR Resources is expanding the Antigua collection, a machine-made
range of traditional and transitional designs; the Oushak line featuring
Turkish-looking designs in hand-spun wool with Persian knots; Nisha, a
hand-knotted sari rayon art silk collection in traditional and
transitional styling with vibrant colors; and adding new designs to the
Naturals collection, which combines jute and chenille with a secondary
back for stability. New SKUs have also been added to the Elite jute rug
program.
The
company's Naturals and Elite rugs will also be shown at the Suites at
Market Square, in addition to new pillows in all natural jute and
chenille yarns. The accent line also features cotton, jute or blends of
both yarns in items from poufs, pillows and accent rugs to baskets and
table runners.
At
market, LR Resources will distribute its new 184-page catalog featuring
28 rug collections, which can also be downloaded at lrresources.com.
