THE RUG SHOW KICKS OFF SEPT. 10 IN NEW YORK CITY


Sahar debuts the Impressions collection, which takes its cues from contemporary art. Made of premium hand-spun Persian wool and the best Chinese silk, these rugs are hand-knotted in Rajasthan.

NEW YORK -- The Rug Show will offer an extensive selection of rugs and carpets across the middle and high end of the market from Sept. 10-13 at the Javits Center in New York City.

"The Rug Show brings together some of the best companies in the rug business," says Ramin Mobayen, one of the show's organizers. "By featuring all of this product in one location, everyone in the entire industry--buyers, wholesales, designers--is able to benefit. And we're not just talking about handmade rugs, we have an impressive selection of machine-made products this year, as well."

This year, Louis de Poortere will present its complementary collections of Belgian-made broadloom and machine-made area rugs, while Concepts International will show off its selection of broadloom and area rugs. Globalcraft Rugs will also be on hand with its SuCool Broadloom, available in a variety of colors.

Perennial favorites French Accents, Creative Touch, Sahar, New Moon, and Samad join Tepp Team USA, Shalom Brothers, Michaelian & Kohlberg, and Woven Legends, who are widely known for their updated traditional rugs. Emoc Oriental Rug will present a selection of both new and antique Persian carpets, as Tibet Rug Company and Bespoke Tibetan Carpets, along with Wool and Silk, showcase designs available in modern Nepalese carpets. Knott & Co.'s fret-like Fez Collection and the minimalist styling of Kristiina Lassus round out the show.

The Rug Show is North America's takes place biannually and caters to a diverse community of showroom buyers, hosting shows in Los Angeles in the spring and New York in the fall. For more information, visit therugshow.com
