COLONIAL MILLS REBRANDS
BY RETURNING TO ITS ROOTS
PAWTUCKET, RI - Colonial Mills, previously
referred to as CMI, has decided to go back to its roots and rebrand itself with
the company's original name. Additionally, the braided rug and home accessories
company, in business since 1978, has a new logo that reflects this change with a
contemporary logo mark that graphically depicts its innovative approach to
braid.
"The goal has always been to produce quality
products, made to order, right here in the United States. We have remained true
to that goal," says president and CEO, Donald Scarlata, "The name Colonial Mills
really identifies with the American tradition and craftsmanship we are creating
in our products. Through quality, American craftsmanship and adaptable design,
we are creating the next generation of braided home fashions. We see braid as a
method of construction, not a style."ÂÂ
The company which has produced in Pawtucket,
RI since its inception, now out of a 70,000 square foot facility, says it is
pushing the limits with innovations that bring fashion into the braided
category. "We make a broad selection of braided storage baskets in addition to
rugs, but whatever the line extension, it is always still a braid," explains
Meredith Thayer, creative director. "We are very proud of our heritage and who
we are. We wanted to have a logo that we felt reflected that. Calling ourselves
Colonial Mills just feels like the natural way to communicate our commitment to
this heritage," she added.
