SAFAVIEH FEATURED IN GILT LOUNGE AT ART BASEL MIAMI

Appealing to a sophisticated young audience of contemporary art fans, Gilt's lounge at Scope Miami Beach featured furniture from Safavieh and Safavieh Couture and a Safavieh Studio Leather rug

MIAMI -- A range of Safavieh home furnishings products were on exhibit at the Gilt Lounge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at the Scope Miami Beach art fair during Art Basel Miami, which ran Dec. 1-4, 2016.

Scope, the international contemporary art fair held during Art Basel Miami, was located on Miami's South Beach with stunning ocean views.

"We provided the chairs, side tables, coffee table and the cowhide rug from our Studio Leather collection for the room Gilt created. The interior was designed for the upscale young audience at Scope, which is a contemporary art fair. Both Gilt and Scope are targeting a similar, sophisticated consumer," Ashley Yaraghi of Safavieh told RugNews.com at the show.

Gilt Home products represented at the company's exhibition at Scope Miami Beach, included selections from Safavieh and Safavieh Couture.

Gilt tied in all of its brands at the show: Gilt City offered flash sale deals on Miami restaurants, spas, and theater and museum tickets, for example, while Gilt Life offered beauty services and held yoga classes on a boardwalk deck outside the Lounge.  In informal modeling during Scope, models were dressed in fashions offered on the site as well.

Art talks sponsored by Gilt included a discussion on how tech innovation is changing the way we create and experience art, which was moderated by Alexis Maybank, Gilt co-founder and former CEO, who is now CEO of Project September, a shopping app.  Speakers included a panel of art world moguls such as contemporary artist, Ron English; artcloud CEO, Alex West; Rodrigo Mascheroni de Uhart (creative director of the Young Artists Initiative); and Esther Park (director of alumni and public programs at the National Young Arts Foundation).

Among the other furniture brands partnering with Gilt with products for the Lounge were Noir, Innit, and Koverton.
