MUST-SEE RUGS: HIGH POINT BUYERS' MARKET HIT LIST, PART 2

  

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The spring 2017 edition of High Point Market - beginning a day ahead of its scheduled April 22 official opening - gives rug vendors and extended platform to put their best rugs forward.

LINON/POWELL


Linon brings texture to market with its High Low Chenille flatweaves.

Linon shows off The High Low Chenille flat woven collection featuring 100 percent microfiber polyester on the high pile and 100 percent chenille low pile for contrasting texture. Retail is $249 for a 5x8. The company will show new designs in the Serape collection machine woven of heatset 13mm polypropylene pile in very dense and heavy traditional designed in updated colors. LOLOI


One of 11 new Loloi brand collections launching in High Point, Wild Bloom features designs based on a collaboration with artist and painter Bari J.


Buyers will see 11 new Loloi brand rug collections at this year's April market, ranging from traditional styles to modern florals and using natural and synthetic fibers. The company will also debut five new collections as part of its collaboration with Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines, (read full story) in addition to two new throw collections and new pillow designs by Magnolia Home.


This market marks the debut of Loloi's new licensed collection with ED Ellen DeGeneres in High Point, following its introduction at January shows. The ED program features nine collections in a variety of weaves and styles in Ellen's unique design aesthetic. Loloi, IHFC, D320.


MOMENI


The new Rustic Romance collection by Momeni is loomed from polyester space dyed yarn, utilizing a cross woven technique.

Momeni highlights its hit Novogratz by Momeni collection with a book signing meet and greet with Cortney and Robert Novogratz in the collection's boutique showroom, following a presentation on Sunday morning (see full event listing).  In addition, the company will show 16 new lines, including Benghal, Cypress, Cosette and Nomad, its 2017 award-winning Margaux and Rustic Romance. Cosette features traditional florals in hand-hooked 100 percent wool, while Nomad focuses on hand-knotted wool tribal motifs with Bohemian style influences. Both collections are crafted in India. NOURISON


Nourison launches the antique-inspired Delmar Collection at High Point Market.

Nourison will launch antique-inspired motifs with the Cordoba and Delmar collections, and a selection of one-of-a-kind rugs at spring 2017 High Point Market (read full story). In addition, the rug maker introduces a collection with fine artist Lida Sherafatmand with hand-tufted rugs based on her original paintings, infusing surrealism with floral motifs (read full story).


Nourison also debuts its newly enhanced 50 to Infinity custom sized rug program at market, offering designers a new sample kit box and catalog, along with the ability to order custom rugs from its fashion-forward broadloom collections (read full story)Nourison, IHFC, C100.


ORIENTAL WEAVERS


Oriental Weavers presents Evolution (shown, 77770J), a collection of 16 abstract designs inspired by nature.

Oriental Weavers presents 11 standout collections for 2017 for the first time to High Point market shoppers at the spring event. A major hit for OW, the Evolution collection uses elements of the natural landscape to create 16 abstract designs in the debut collection. The inspiration comes from natural processes such as oxidation, patina and the weathered surfaces of rust, bark and stone.

 

The hot new Bohemian collection by OW is a modern take on global, eclectic influences in a reimagined palette. Designs explore the use of graphic tile patterns, traditional folk motifs, and large scale Persian medallions, in this machine woven of polypropylene line. Oriental WeaversIHFC, G276.


RIZZY HOME


Rizzy Home debuts the etheral machine-made Gossamer collection.

Rizzy Home places its focus on the Gossamer collection, showing off the company's complete vertical capabilities from rugs to top of bed, decorative pillows and throws. Gossamer illustrates state of the art machine-made rug technology in a range of transitional and updated traditional designs.


Rizzy's line-up includes top-of-bed and decorative pillows from the Donny Osmond Home Collection, and a coordinated collection of Boho rugs and pillows anchored by the company's best-selling Zingaro collection, which is hand tufted using premium wool in a variety of designs, from abstract and geometric patterns to tribals, florals and Art Deco-inspired motifs. SAFAVIEH


Safavieh debuts the power-loomed Baldwin collection (shown, BDN193A-5) for fashion seeking shoppers.

Safavieh continues its mission to fulfill buyers' requests for fast-fashion with new collections blending heirloom looks with mod colors and textures at affordable prices. The company introduces vivid hues and supple textures in Baldwin, a line featuring Persian medallions and ornate borders, in cut pile synthetic yarns.

 

Safavieh's Radiance collection focuses on urban chic styling and organic harmony in abstract motifs that are composed of color blends in an on-trend palette. Another new collection called Harmony transforms elegant Persian motifs with ornate borders into modern flor art, with synthetic yarns in a fine loop, zero pile. SHINE BY SHO


Shine by S.H.O. debuts the Malachite-patterned Georgiana rug  at High Point Market, inspired by the 2017 Pantone color of the year Greenery and the ever trending tropical greens.

Shine by S.H.O., the home furnishings label created by California designer Susan Hornbeak-Ortiz, will be showcasing two new area rugs at the April High Point Market. Prowl takes its fashion forward cues from the hot 2017 interiors trend of tropical patterns and exotic animals, featuring a modern fractured animal (Leopard) print. The sophisticated, but edgy, Prowl, is  hand tufted by artisans in India of New Zealand Wool and bamboo silk rug. It retails at $72 per square foot and is fully customizable.


Georgiana works with the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year and the ever trending tropical greens for a fashion forward statement, inspired by Malachite.  Hand Tufted by artisans in India, this bamboo silk rug retails at $73 per square foot and is fully customizable in size, colors and fiber selection. SURYA


Surya, which will introduce more than 350 rugs at High Point Market, debuts the machine-made Germili collection, made of a mix of polypropylene and polyester mix

Surya will debut more than 350 rugs at the upcoming High Point Market, adding breadth and depth in all price points, ranging from an expanded selection of value-priced machine-made designs to luxe hand-knotted rugs (read full story).  The company also is aggressively expanding its lighting and accents offering for market shoppers as well (read full story).

TAMARIAN


Tamarian brings a range of fresh looks to High Point Market, including the Tibetan pure wool, twisted knot Eon in cumulus color combination, which features a uniquely dyed yarn.

Hand-woven Tibetan rug maker Tamarian brings five new ranges to the spring 2017 High Point Market. Included are three designs crafted of pure Himalayan shoulder wool: Bowery PW in nude mist, Cabo PW in stone blue and Eon TK in cumulus.The company also adds two twisted-knot constructions: it's popular Khaten, which gets updated with a color palette called tundra, and Overlap in glaucous, which is crafted of 60 percent wool and 40 percent silk. TAYSE


Tayse debuts nine new collections at spring High Point Market including, the vibrant 16-color Pacifica, shown.

Tayse premieres nine new collections for High Point Market shoppers, including Fairview, which features traditional artisan designs, and is machine made from soft, space dyed polyester. Retail is $249 in 5x7.  Another newcomer is Pacifica, a new 16-color polypropylene range of abstract and transitional designs. Also on display will be the new Norwalk, Escada, Museo, the micro-fiber polyester Charter, the high-low Taos collection, the space dyed Aurora range, and a new micro-fiber shag collection. TRANS-OCEAN


Trans-Ocean continues to grow its assortment of coastal-themed designs with Capri Octopus in coral.

High Point shoppers can expect to find plenty of playful designs from Trans-Ocean by Liora Manne in a range that covers designer indoor looks, fashion outdoor lines and novelties from coastal and country themes to whimsical designs. The New York atelier adds to its "Everywear" line of indoor-outdoor rugs with new designs for Capri. Both Capri Octopus with its a playful marine life motif and the tropical Palm Leaf are crafted of a blend of 50 percent polyester and 50 percent acrylic. Available sizes include  24x36,  42x66,  5' x 7'6",  7'6" x 9'6", and 24x8 runner. MSRP in 5'x7'6 is  $355.
