ROME, GA -- Balta Home USA is moving to a new 330,000 square foot distribution facility for rugs in Rome, Georgia, to provide more capacity for its North American business.
The formal opening was held on Nov. 16 with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by local dignitaries including the mayor of Rome, Georgia, and Floyd county commissioner, senior Balta Home management and Balta Group CEO Tom Debusschere.

The new Balta Home USA warehouse provides capacity for the company's growing e-commerce business.

"The reorganization of our distribution network for area rugs in the US will support our future growth ambitions and provide the infrastructure to support our customers more effectively in their growing e-commerce sales channels." said Tom Debusschere.

The reorganization consolidates the company's previous warehouses in Dalton and Calhoun into the new Balta Home distribution center to improve efficiencies, reduce labor and packaging costs, and continue the company's high-level of service. The building features 100% LED lighting with separate waste streams for plastic, cardboard and other recyclables.

Housing 10,000 square feet of offices for sales and marketing departments, the center will employ between 75 - 100 people depending on the time of year. Divided into three zones with a logical flow (inbound, packaging, outbound), the center has 24 loading docks, accommodating 14 outbound trailers at one time.

Balta Home USA's new facility includes 10,000 square feet of office space for sales and marketing departments.

Part of the warehouse will be used to provide capacity for Balta Home's growing e-commerce business, seeing an expansion from 1,500 to 2,000 SKUs in the coming months. As an additional benefit, it will also allow the company to target new distribution channels. The company will continue to use the offices and showroom on 5th Avenue in New York City.

At the new facility's ribbon cutting event, Debusschere told local leaders that Balta is the largest floor covering company in Europe and the first to develop outdoor rugs. Balta has recently acquired commercial carpet producer Bentley Mills in California.

The new facility is based at 6739 New Calhoun Highway, Bld #100, Rome, Georgia. Balta is a leading manufacturer of textile floor coverings, selling to over 135 countries worldwide. The Balta divisions are Balta Home (woven area rugs), Balta Residential Carpets & Tiles (under the brands Balta Carpets and ITC), Balta Commercial Carpets & Tiles (under the brands modulyss, Arc Edition and Bentley), and Balta Non-Woven (under the brand Captiqs). With the addition of Bentley, Balta employs over 3,600 FTEs in 9 manufacturing sites and in distribution centers in Belgium, Turkey and the United States.
