HIGH POINT -- Harounian Rugs International (HRI) welcomed buyers and designers to its new IHFC showroom, space H404 in the Hamilton wing on Friday, and though market hadn't officially opened, the company reports early traffic indicates a strong showing.

The Moma collection, debuting at HRI's new Hamilton wing showroom in IHFC, is already striking a chord with shoppers at the spring 2017 High Point Market.

"When we got the opportunity to move our showroom to a space that is larger and has a much better exposure on a high-traffic Hamilton floor, we did not hesitate to make the move," said Lee Harounian, president, HRI. Harounian noted that the new showroom gives tremendous exposure to the company's growing collections of transitional looks, which has become a top growth category for HRI over the past two years.

Greg Jordt, executive vice president of sales and marketing, told RugNews.com two new collections are already striking a chord with spring High Point Market shoppers. "Our Moma collection is going to be so hot this market, and Melody is also already getting a great response," Jordt said.

HRI's moves from the Green wing to Hamilton, in a new showroom with room to grow its collections.

Moma features transitional designs handmade of wool and viscose with subtle luster and lots of texture. The collection includes six SKUs in sophisticated neutrals, with a 6x9 suggested retail of $800. The Melody collection, handmade of wool and sari silk, brings fresh sophistication to Bohemian chic design. Exuberant patterns pop in the sari silk against the wool solid grounds, in both overall and bordered designs. Melody is offered in four SKUs with the 6x9 retailing at $1,699.
