AMER TO PRESENT 29 NEW COLLECTIONS IN ATLANTA, ALL BACKED WITH INVENTORY

The debuting Kanoka collection, hand-tufted of New Zealand wool and art silk retails for $299.

NORCROSS, GA - Amer Rugs has announced that 29 collections introduced in 2015, including 10 collections to premiere this week at the Atlanta International Rug Market, will be backed with inventory.  The 29 collections are featured in a new catalog to be unveiled during market at the company's AmericasMart showroom 5-D-2 in Building 1.

"We want to distinguish Amer in the marketplace with a commitment to our customers that the new lines we show them at markets will be programmed and inventoried.  We will not waste our customers' time in our showroom viewing samples that will not be produced or writing orders that will not delivered," explained Tanuj Gupta, president, Amer Rugs.

"We are filling a void in the marketplace with fashion, quality and customer service."

"When we present new collections there will be no looking back.  We are officially announcing that every one of the designs in these 29 collections will always be in stock and rapid-shipped. We are so committed to providing exceptional customer service, that if for any reason a rug is not in stock, we will we ship it to the customer at our own expense," Gupta said.

Focusing on customer wants and needs is also evident in product design and development at Amer Rugs.  "Our company has been making rugs in Jaipur for 35 years, and is traditionally known for high quality 14/14, 12/12, and 10/10 wool and silk. But in the last few years we have been moving into other design categories and now 70% of our line is soft modern."

Gupta said that the company entered the hand-tufted arena only after it felt it could offer added value to the category. He points to the debuting Kanoka collection as an example.  "The idea came from our customers who wanted something that would distinguish their hand-tufted rugs from what their competitors were offering.  It is actually an extension of our Shibori collection, which is a great success.  Kanoka takes the idea a step forward with a tie dye technique that is new for the tufted market and adds more value to the beautiful designs and colors. Adding art silk to the tie-dyed New Zealand wool creates a sheen that also is unlike any other tufted rug in the marketplace," he said.

Expansion into hand-tufted has opened new retail doors for Amer, and accelerated growth with online retailers.  "We are filling a void in the rug market.  A lot of companies have fashion and not quality. Others have quality and not fashion.  We want to do both," Gupta said.
