Target Rug Audience: Adventuresome design aficionados who appreciate unique, conversation starting interiors.

Chroma Crackle design by Julia Buckingham for Feizy's Haute Trends collection captures her love of color.

How do you describe your signature style?
JB: My signature style, a phrase which I coined and trademarked, is called Modernique. I just can't create any living space without the blending of both modern and antique elements. When curated correctly and collectively these seemingly disparate moods and styles make for a perfectly harmonious, happy and unique environment.

How does your style translate into your Feizy rug designs?

My love (actually an addiction!) for fashion -- stemming from the beginning of my career at Neiman Marcus -- is pronounced throughout each of my signature rugs. Fashion dress-making details, my love for color, love for unexpected design elements and yes, some bling inspired me. Whether it's a stitch,  a twirling scarf design or faceted gemstones strewn across the rug, the elements of fashion are what makes my rugs sing as an anchor  for any room.

Can you share a little bit about your process for designing the Feizy rugs?

The process for designing these rugs and the rugs I have designed for my other licensing partners begins with the compilation of colors. Next, designs are inspired by my selected colors. Then after drawing and sketching designs the actual rugs begin to take shape. The evolution of each design always is changing until the perfect mix is achieved upon sampling.

What did you learn about rugs through this process?

JB: What I've always known- they are the most important design element in any space! The rug literally can make or break a space.

What role do rugs play in your interior designs?

JB: Rugs are the last piece that I introduce into each of my curated spaces. They are the element that creates the harmony and links all of the furnishings together in a gorgeous loop.

How are your rugs different from the other Haute Designer rugs? How did you manage the process to insure no overlap of designs?

Each rug represents the true personalities and design aesthetic of each different designer. No overlapping could possibly have occurred with our different looks- the perfect storm!

What rug do you have in your living room?

A solid gray plush mohair rug. It perfectly complements my variety of textural and colorful fabrics throughout the room.
