THE RUG SHOW AT HIGH POINT DOUBLES EXHIBITOR LIST, WELCOMES NEWCOMERS

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The Rug Show at High Point Market, running from April 11-18 at the Suites at Market Square, has doubled its exhibitors since its High Point Market debut last October, and introduces an international roster of newcomers.

Louis de Poortere makes its Rug Show at High Point Market debut and becomes U.S. distributor for co-exhibitor Brink & Campman. Shown, Cracks from the Madmen collection.

Joining the event are Brink & Campman of The Netherlands, Louis de Poortere of Belgium, Edelgrund of Germany, Sahar Carpets of Switzerland, Creative Matters Inc of Canada, and Obeetee of India. Also debuting at The Rug show at High Point are West Coast-based Andkhuy and Nalbandian, and Georgia-based Turkish rug brand Global Motif.

Brink & Campman, based in the Netherlands, bring its contemporary take on the floor to the U.S. via the Rug Show at High Point. Shown, a design from the company's Ted Baker London selection.

The Rug Show at High Point made its debut at the Fall 2017 Market, at which time the expectation was to continue to grow the show for the spring 2018 fair -- a feat which has been accomplished.

The event, which now includes 21 area rug participants and features prestigious returning labels as Anadol Rugs, Caravan Rug Corp., HOC Design, Lapchi, Looms of Persia, Mobayen, Neman International, Pacific Collection, Rug & Kilim, Shalom Brothers, The New England Collection and Zollanvari, occupies a dedicated section on the third floor of the Suites at Market Square.

Creative Matters showcases the Architexture collection with designs hand knotted of Tibetan wool and pure Chinese silk. Shown, Duomo Patina.

Germany's award-winning Edelgrund presents many of its top designs including those from its Alasht collection of flatweaves at the Rug Show at High Point.

"The idea is to put a lot of rug people together in one spot to make a really strong statement," said Ramin Mobayen, the show organizer. "By coalescing, we hope the power of the group will make the Suites at Market Square a destination for rugs inside a much bigger market."

Global Motif, based in Georgia, debuts its signature Motif Royale assortment of power-loomed designs made in Turkey of shrink polyester and viscose, including this airy abstract (U793E).
