LOS ANGELES -- The Rug Show at Javits has outgrown the hall it has booked for past editions, and will move into an expansive new hall at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City this fall to accommodate unprecedented growth, according to show organizer Ramin Mobayen. Because of scheduling commitments at the new location, previously announced dates have been changed. The event will take place Sept. 10-13, 2016.
"The show has grown such a following that big name rug makers have been clamoring for space, and we hit capacity," Mobayen said. "It's been a thrill to help grow this not-for-profit trade event and boost the high-end, hand-knotted rug industry. The show now has a reputation for giving discerning buyers an incredible place to come see the latest, most provocative and compelling rugs on the global stage. This fall, we'll do it again, only in a bigger space."
New Award-Winning Exhibitors
Award-winning firms returning to the September event at Javits include Zollanvari, Wool & Silk, Samad and Tamarian. Exhibiting for the first time, domestic and international award-winners include Rug Star from Germany; Vartian from Vienna, Austria, and Dallas-based Feizy Rugs. This list is just a teaser according to Mobayen, who hinted that more additions to the international roster will be announced shortly.
"The fall Rug Show at Javits promises to be one of the largest compilations of exquisite, innovative and artistic area rugs ever seen in the United States. This is just the tip of the iceberg. September 2016 will be party-central in New York. You do not want to miss it," Mobayen said.
