NY HOME FASHIONS MARKET, PART 2: A TASTE OF WHAT'S TO COME

Lifestyle displays at rug manufacturers and importers showrooms during NY Home Fashions Market Fall 2016 edition offer buyers up-to-the-minute innovations in fashion and technology.

NEW YORK --  A harbinger of more than a few trends to be on full view at the upcoming October High Point Market, the New York Home Fashions event last month gave big name buyers a heads-up with creative showroom displays underscoring innovations in fashion and technology.

Key examples were Nourison's Waverly accent rugs presentation -- soft, feminine and flowery -- and Mohawk Home's Art District, a street scene replete with galleries showcasing the company's artfully printed abstract rugs alongside inspirational works on easels.

Loloi inspired point of sale displays by cross-merchandising its rugs, pillows and throws in vignettes throughout its year-old 295 Fifth showroom - one showstopper featuring a selection of cowhide rugs inflected with touches of gold metallic.  Similarly, Oriental Weavers set up several display areas that featured lifestyle presentations tying together apparel trends, home decor, and its latest area rugs designs.

New showrooms for Obeetee and Orian gave both companies more room to present solutions to buyers. Obeetee used its sprawling space to highlight not only its hand-tufteds, but also its roll out of a debut broadloom collection and home furnishings by sister company Manor & Mews. Orian, in turn, used its loft-like gallery to showcase its latest proprietary tech innovation called Next Generation, in an eye-catching presentation for buyers.

RugNews.com continues its A-Z exclusive tour of New York Home Fashions Market, visiting the showrooms and meeting attendees. Below is Part 2, from Mohawk Home to United Weavers. In case you missed it, you can read Part 1 here.
