Above a modern design called Silk Shadows is made of a blend of 25 percent New Zealand wool and 75 percent bamboo silk retailing.

The assortment includes some higher-end hand-tufted designs in a broad range of styles. In addition, there is also a small selection of machine-made rugs, however those are in special constructions, such as a Wilton weave, Jafari said.

Luminance in graphite is a machine woven delicate floral made of 30 percent wool and 70 percent Luxcelle. It retails for $769 on Nazmiyal's ModernVintageRugs.com in a just larger than 5x7 size.

Nazmiyal, known around the world for its collection of antique rugs, will make many of its one-of-a-kind traditional decorative rugs and mid-century Moroccans and Scandinavian pieces available on the Modern Vintage Rugs website.

"What we tried to do is to cover the best of the lines -- so if it is machine-made, it will be a high-end machine-made. If it is hand tufted, then it is a high-end product for our customers," Jarari explained. "We want our new site to be compatible with Nazmiyal, so it will be higher-end goods."
