RIZZY PREMIERES THREE STEP-UP GOSSAMER COLLECTIONS, PLUS PET PERFORMANCE RUGS

Rizzy Home combines its expertise in hand work and machine weaving to create its new Artistry collection in 10 designs, which are 60 percent handmade of New Zealand wool and viscose.

LAS VEGAS -- Following a strong response from retailers treated to sneak peeks at Atlanta Market, Rizzy Home heads to its World Market Center showroom (B355) with big news in new product developments and an expanded trade show strategy.

At Las Vegas Market, the company will officially debut its first performance rugs crafted from PET yarn, which the company recycles in its own facility in India. Rizzy will also unveil three next-generation iterations of its wildly popular Gossamer collection, which is power-loomed of New Zealand wool. These new collections -- Artistry, Finesse and Impressions -- are designed to offer retailers, particularly furniture stores, a unique point of difference in the marketplace.

Shamsu Ansari and Steve Roan of Rizzy Home show off one of their best-selling rugs from the machine-made, 100 percent wool Gossamer range, which inspired three Las Vegas debut collections.

INTRODUCING ARTISTRY

The new next-generation Gossamer lines have been developed with a good, better, best strategy. Though machine-woven, Artistry is 60 percent handmade of New Zealand wool and viscose, and a step up from Gossamer. "Artistry is Gossamer on steroids -- everyone we've shown it to loves it," said Steve Roan, Managing Director, The Americas, for Rizzy Home. "It's made on Van de Wiele looms, but we wash it four times, hand-carve it just like you would a hand-knotted rug, and then hand-serge the edges." Artistry will be introduced with 12 designs and will retail at $22 per a square foot MAP, compared to Gossamer, which retails at $15 MAP.

Artistry by Rizzy Home will be launched in contemporary abstract designs and updated traditional motifs in a texture that contrasts matte and shine from New Zealand wool and viscose.

Sandwiching Artistry are two additional collections: Finesse, a New Zealand wool 10/32 hand knot that will debut in Las Vegas with eight designs retailing at a "very competitive" $49 per square foot MAP, and the lower-priced Impressions which, like Artistry, is made on Van de Wiele looms of New Zealand wool with viscose highlights, but without the carving or hand-serging. Impressions will retail at $19 MAP.

The textural new Impressions collection from Rizzy Home is woven on Van de Wiele looms of New Zealand wool and viscose.

FIRST PERFORMANCE RUGS FROM PET YARN

Rizzy Home will also introduce in Vegas the company's first PET performance rug concept in four constructions, all made from its own recycled PET. "We are the largest recycler of plastic water bottles in India; we recycle 1.8 million bottles a day," said Roan. He explained that the company previously sold its PET yarn to apparel companies, but has been working to develop a cost effective version for area rugs.

"We will be showing four constructions for performance rugs at Las Vegas Market. It's a great product: - it will not shed, and it can't stain, even if you pour a bottle of wine on it.

PREMIERING AT THE CASUAL SHOW, AND IN DUBAI

"We feel so strongly about this PET product that we will be exhibiting for the first time at the Casual Market in Chicago in September," Roan said, noting that the company will showcase the new rugs alongside its decorative outdoor pillows. "The goal is to meet with high end outdoor retailers who want better rugs and a better complement to the quality and styling of their outdoor furniture," Roan explained.

Another first for Rizzy Home, its foray into the hospitality market last year, was marked by a debut at the Boutique Design show in New York (BDNY). The company will exhibit again this year at the November BDNY, and will also show its hospitality products at the Hotel Show in Dubai in September as an exhibitor at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce stand.

LICENSING PROGRAMS

For Vegas, Roan announced the rollout new Donnie Osmond Home categories and line extensions which were previewed in High Point in April. "We are expanding our already successful Donny Osmond Home collection to include more pillows that coordinate to the new rugs, and also coordinate back to the bedding," he explained. Donnie Osmond will be on hand at Rizzy's showroom to work with customers, and Connie Post, another licensor, will meet with retailers throughout the Vegas show, to introduce them to her new line of decorative pillows, which are designed to coordinate with the Rugs by Connie Post program.

Donnie Osmond Home will show area rugs and coordinating decorative pillows combining metallic-accented leather with jacquard textures in its Wild Thing collection.

Citing strong placements for the Gossamer collection and Donnie Osmond in major furniture stores nationally, and a growing number of Connie Post full gallery placements with large furniture chains, Roan is expecting these and well as the new Artistry-Finesse-Impressions intros to contribute to a successful Las Vegas Market.

"We expect that summer market will be well attended based on the current positive economic information as well as the increase in people's outlooks for the future. This is currently reflected in our business volume as well. 2018 is well ahead of 2017," Roan said.
