INTERTEXTILE SHANGHAI HOME TEXTILES
SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 27 TO 29, 2014

SHANGHAI, CHINA – The Intertextile Shanghai Home Textile trade fair will  take place Aug. 27 to 29, 2014 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center here.

The Fair is expecting a total of 1,400-plus exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions to showcase the latest products in 13 halls covering 150,400 sq. m. (1.6 million sq. ft.).

Country and regional pavilions include Belgium, India, Italy, Korea, Pakistan, Taiwan and Turkey, while a new pavilion from Morocco makes its debut appearance. Chinese regional pavilions at this edition are from Binzhou, Gaoyang, Haining, Huzhou, Nantong, Pujiang, Shaoxing, Tongxiang and Yuhang.

In the European Hall attendees will find the Intertextile Design Boutique, where studios will display their original designs and artwork for fabric and product development. This zone is growing in popularity, with 40 design studios from 13 countries participating in 2013.

A new highlight at the fair this year is the Home Decoration Trend Area (hall W2) where a full range of home textile products will be illustrated in a practical setting as well as  the trend themes that are featured in the Intertextile International Lifestyle Trend Forum (hall W1). The design of the areas have been managed by interior designer and architect, Dai Kun.

International and domestic trend forums will also be featured at the fair. The Intertextile International Lifestyle Trend Forum (hall W1) will present four lifestyle themes for 2015, which have been developed by the diverse and widely experienced Trend Committee, and utilize exhibitors’ fabrics to illustrate the trends for next year.

Following the focus on design, a Soft Furnishing Design Forum will take place in the afternoon of August 27 at the fair. With the topic of ‘New Era of Home Textiles – The Interrelationship between Home Textiles and Soft Furnishings’, the forum will be moderated by Lu Congzhou, the promoter of the Andrew Martin International Interior Design Award, and founder of Euroart Co. Ltd.

A number of seminars under the topic of design will also be featured on August 28. Some of the highlights include Vincent Grégoire, the artistic director at trend forum design coordinators the NellyRodi Agency, whom will explain the 2015 international lifestyle themes in detail. A seminar titled ‘Decoding of the Trends of 2015/2016 China Home Textiles Market and their Application in Design will be led by Cui PingPing, the Asian designer director for the Concept & Style Fashion Project Group from Italy. And Dai Kun will discuss neo-traditional oriental styles and new world-fusion styles in the ‘Ongoing Design’ seminar.

Also featuring on day two is a special ‘Master Talk’ led by Ju Bin, the founder and chief executive design director of Horizontal Space Design, China. He specializes in researching the application and innovation of Chinese culture in architecture. The seminar’s topic is ‘Balance In-between Boundary and Infinite’, and will focus on traditional, contemporary and future aspects of design in China.

In addition to the design seminars, introduction tours of the International Lifestyle Trend Forum will be hosted by Trend Committee members. Alongside design, seminars on testing and certification and market information will also take place during the fair.

Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
