Fashion Rug Preview LV Market Part 2

LAS VEGAS - As rug companies get ready to usher in the summer 2015 edition of Las Vegas Market, the mood is upbeat and the designs and weaves focused on new textures, a return to classic traditional motifs and an abundance of transitional styles. LOLOI


New from Loloi is the Dorado collection combining hand-stitched hide patterns with jacquard woven viscose grounds.


The Dallas-based Loloi launched nine rug collections for summer markets, expanded its decorative pillow line and entered a new home textile category with the addition of seven throw collections.

The rug lines debuting at Loloi for Las Vegas Market include three hand knotted collections: The Antique-like Pierce series is hand knotted of wool and viscose with a special antique washing process to lend the range an heirloom look in an updated neutral color palette. Elsa, a reworking of traditional designs, is hand-knotted featuring a New Zealand wool base and pattern accented with low and high levels of viscose, and made in India.

Power-loomed collections from Loloi include Emory, made in Turkey of 100% polypropylene in a series of graphic, transitional, and traditional designs in a calming neutral palette; the distressed Florence collection, crafted of polypropylene and polyester for durability and color fastness. Also in the Loloi lineup is the bold patterned Torrance crafted of microfiber polyester. Both Florence and Torrance are power-loomed in Egypt.

Designed for children's rooms, Lola Shag offers a soft, plush pile in a range of fun color and patterns that are  hand-tufted in India of 100% polyester microfiber with a high and low texture. Loloi will also present the hand-stitched cowhide and hand-woven viscose Dorado; the hand-crafted in India Underwood collection, hooked of wool and featuring an abrash on the yarns; and, lastly, Loloi introduces Vero, a collection of colorful printed patterns on jute.  Loloi Showroom, B-480

 

MOMENI


The new hand loomed Fresco collection features silky viscose yarn for lustrous sheen and subtle patterns.


Momeni's portfolio becomes ever more comprehensive, and this summer's new looks run from entry level machine made polypropylene rugs to fine hand-knotted pieces.  The company introduces west coast buyers to Fresco, a collection hand loomed in India of viscose with a lustrous sheen and silk- like hand. Featuring geometrically inspired designs with unexpected textures, Fresco will be offered in shades such as mint, steel, silver, sand and ivory.

The company highlights its versatility in everything from the successful Baja indoor/outdoor line, which is value priced and popular with large retailers, to its successful one of a kind rug program popular with designers and dealers.  New machine-made lines introduced this summer are made in Turkey: Gallerie, with its fine art-inspired designs, features a soft polypropylene yarn; and Juliette, a wool and viscose collection with distressed patterns. 

The New Jersey-based Momeni has added new designs in bright colors and distressed traditional motifs to the Mykonos collection of cross woven polyester, and reproduces classic Oriental rug designs in the Kerman collection which is also machine made in Turkey of a soft new polypropylene that delivers hand-knotted looks at accessible prices and offers durability and easy-care.  Momeni Showroom, B-425

 

NOURISON


The jewel toned damask Nightfall line from Nourison is loom-woven of wool and Luxcelle 2.


At Las Vegas Market, Nourison will focus on its hit collections, Twilight, Silk Shadows, Luminance and Nightfall. Twilight is loom-woven of wool and Luxcelle 2 in dappled neutral colors and abstract designs imbued with subtle sheen ($2,399). Another best seller, the new Nightfall collection is also loom-woven of wool and Luxcelle 2 in saturated rich hues in a choice of over dyed and distressed damask patterns ($2,399). Nourison grows the handmade transitional Silver Shadows collection with new shades of graphite and blue stone among its new colorways ($3,329 in 5'6"x7'5") Silk Shadows is hand knotted of premium wool and silk-like bamboo fibers for a velvety sheen.

Nourison adds to its Barclay Butera lineup with the new Prism collection, which features loop pile flat weave designs with a play on texture. They are hand woven of wool and reinterpret classics such as flame-stitch motifs and ikats with a modern flair. Peacock from the Barclay Butera Prisms line is crafted from Luxcelle fibers for an iridescent effect, and features floral shapes with feathery background motifs. 

Aldora is an antique-inspired collection hand knotted from a luxurious wool/cotton composition for an extravagant texture and tone, and is offered in a palette featuring popular grey tones. Nourison will also present Cascade, a new design in the Calvin Klein Home collection ($2,199 for 5'6"x7'5") that pairs an understated color palette with surface texture, where thick cords are hand woven in an interlocking pattern using a viscose/wool blend.  Nourison Showroom, C-112; C-123 

 

NuLOOM


Lantha by NuLOOM is part of the new machine made Vivid Silk collection inspired by overdyed vintage rugs.


Making its Las Vegas Market debut, NuLOOM will highlight the new Vivid Silk collection, which combines a bold, vintage design aesthetic with soft pastel or neutral colors. The rug are inspired by the company's popular vintage overdyed rugs, and updated with innovative intricate designs, which the company says is nothing like their typical collections.  Machine-made in Turkey of polyester yarn, the collection includes 12 designs with a silken luster and retails at $199 for the 5x8. 

"We are excited to showcase our vast assortment of floor coverings in varying prices and material to customers attending Las Vegas Market.  Since NuLOOM is primarily an online company, we are looking forward to continuing building our existing accounts, forging relationships with new accounts, and meeting designers in person," said Nicole Yaraghi, principal of NuLOOM.  The company is also highlighting its Chloe line of printed rugs inspired by classic tiles of Mediterranean cultures, which it says should resonate with West Coast designers and dealers. ORIENTAL WEAVERS


Oriental Weavers will show the Highlands collection in two-tone frieze polypropylene in Las Vegas.

 
Among the six new collections Oriental Weavers will unveil to buyers in Las Vegas is Pasha, a range of traditional patterns in cool neutral shades with pops of fashion colors. Pasha is machine-woven using a soft polypropylene frieze yarn and made in Egypt ($249 in 5x8). Branching out into new constructions, Oriental Weavers will also present its newest handmade collection, Isabella, which is made in India of high-quality wool and silky viscose. A hard twist dyeing process and decolorizing of these traditional patterns creates a look that emulates the appearance of high end antique rugs ($499 for 5x8).

Additionally, Oriental Weavers presents the globally influenced Highlands collection, which features a textured, two-tone frieze polypropylene yarn. Available in neutral shades of gray with accents of paprika, teal and indigo, the made-in-the-US range retails for $249 in 5x8.

Also new is the vibrantly colored Meridian indoor/outdoor collection featuring a unique tricolor yarn in trend-right shades of Indigo blue, Aruba blue, Kelly green and tomato red. RIZZY HOME


The Valentino collection by Rizzy Home is hand-tufted of wool with a retail of $299.


Rizzy Home will showcase its extensive range of color-coordinated rugs, bed fashions, decorative pillows and other home textiles in Las Vegas.  New designs have been added to the Lunniccia ($299 in 5x8), wool series made in India featuring a hand looped ground and tufted raised design. Also to be featured in Las Vegas are new designs in the running line hand-tufted Valentino series and hand-looped Maggie Belle collections, handmade of wool. The suggested retail for both collections in 5x8 is $299.

Also on display are several new 20"x20" coastal pillow designs on cotton duck including starfish, turtle and several nautical navy-and- white designs on duck cloth. Rizzy Home showroom, A-444

 

SADDLEMANS


The Devore metallic rug in white cowhide with silver patterning is a glamorous look from Saddlemans.


Cowhide rug specialist Saddlemans was a center of attention at Atlanta Rug Market with a Portman White display featuring its Devore Metallic rug in white with silver patterning in a lobby setting, and a natural beige hide in the designer vignette gallery (click here for story).
 

The company continues to innovate at Las Vegas Market with a new cowhide pillow collection, new leather-bound cowhide rugs, as well as new chevron motif cowhides in black or brown colorways.  The gradient stripe Sao Paolo rectangular rug alternates bands of hide in combinations of fashion colors, neutral tones and metallic. SAFAVIEH


The new Valencia Over-Dye collection by Safavieh features vintage-style designs in vivid colors.


New York-based Safavieh brings new looks to Las Vegas Market with the debuting Valencia Over-Dye range, an extension of Valencia, of one of the company's best-selling lines. The new over-dyes will be launched in eight designs with three colorways each, all power-loomed in Turkey of polyester and finished with serged edges, $320 for 5x8.

Safavieh reported stepped up demand for vintage looks at Atlanta Market and will show designs in that genre from its new knotted wool Vinyard collection. The Evoke collection, also in the deconstructed vintage theme, is machine loomed of high-twist polypropylene yarns (Click here for story) .   

Safavieh also introduces the Courtyard 8000 series power-loomed in Turkey of polypropylene for indoor-outdoor use. The collection includes six initial designs in six colorways that coordinate with patterned Courtyard collection rugs, $159.24 for 5x8. Three additional power-loomed collections introduced this summer are Evoke 500, a fashion-forward take on Persian styling in an au courant palette of colors; the Lavar Kerman collection, a mix of cotton, jute and polypropylene fiber; and Artisan, a blend of cotton, jute and polypropylene fiber, with a pile height of 0.06". SURYA


Surya showcases 14 new collections, including Naya, hand-tufted of New Zealand wool with viscose accents ($790).


Surya's push for summer in Las Vegas is
focused on hundreds of new designs which will be readily available to buyers and designers soon after market. The company will display only rugs and accessories that are in stock or on the water to ensure that all market orders can be fulfilled during the current season (click here for story).  

Surya is also shining a spotlight on ease of product coordination across its rugs, bedding, lighting, and accessories lines, and its new Cut and Sew program which enables customers to order a machine-tufted rug in any size and shape for guaranteed shipment within three weeks. 

Ranging from traditional distressed Persian inspired designs to looks referencing abstract contemporary art, the company is offering 14 new collections and expanded existing rug lines. Two hand-knotted collections, both woven in India, include the antique washed, low pile Transcendent of 100% New Zealand wool, $1,860 in 5'6"x8'6"; and the lustrous medium pile Opulent, 60% wool, 20% cotton, 20% viscose ($3,980 in 6x9). Surya adds three new hand-tufted collections, all made in India: Castille, a medium pile quality of 100% wool ($390 in 5'x7'6"); Cosmopolitan featuring carved designs of 100% polyester ($370 in 5x8); and Temple a blend of 60% viscose / 40% wool ($1,690 in 6x9). 

Surya also added five new machine-made collections to its summer market lineup.  Colette of 100% poly acrylic and Felicity of printed polyester are crafted in China, and Jax, Maverick and Nova all of polypropylene are made in Turkey. Trans-Ocean


The new Seville series by Liora Manne for Trans-Ocean is hand-tufted of wool in India


Designer Liora Manné creates two new collections for Trans-Ocean, including the just introduced Seville collection, hand-tufted in India of wool, with rich, soft pile and designs like Diamond, $570 in 5x8. The Napa range showcases retro design and unique color combinations bringing fashion flair to the indoor/outdoor scene. Mod Geo from the Napa range is part of the Trans-Ocean Everywhere line suitable for in/out use, and is hand-tufted in China of 100% poly-acrylic. $425 in 5x8. Trans-Ocean Showroom, C-475.
