FIRST LOOK: RUGS RE-EMERGE IN NEW CONCEPT, 'RH BEACH HOUSE'

RH Beach House debuts online featuring rugs in sophisticated settings with furniture and accessories by an international cadre of design celebs including Paola Navone and Piet Boon.

CORTE MADERA, Calif. -- Just in time for Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial launch of summer, RH introduced online customers to its debut RH Beach House lifestyle collection via an online source book.

RH Beach House, and the new 136-page catalog, present an international approach and a sophisticated coastal vibe with crisp white upholstered pieces, live edge natural wood tables, and the first new area rugs since the retailer and rug industry icon Ben Soleimani parted ways.
Milan-based designer Paola Navone creates the standout Navone Modular customizable sectional for RH Beach House, shown with the new Wabi-sabi rug.

In fact, many of the area rugs featured in beach house environments are listed as available in either August, September or October. The rugs are neutral and heavily textured with most hand-knotted in wool - plus a new texture for jute alternating matte cut pile and varied Soumak braids, as well as classic chunky sisal looks. Dual pricing for the rugs is listed in the source book: one price is the RH version of MSRP and the other a lower price for those who've signed up for the retailer's membership program.

In keeping with the international theme, RH Beach House includes collections entitled St. Barts, Sydney, Malibu, Miami, Cabo and Mykonos. In the St Barts collection, the standout Navone Modular customizable sectional was designed by its namesake -- acclaimed Italian designer Paola Navone.  Amsterdam-based designer Lua Al-Rawi creates the oak brule-finished live edge furniture.  Other big names contributing pieces to the collection are Mario Ruiz of Barcelona, Dutch design leader Piet Boon, and the Chinese Todd and Jason Song.

The Allelo rug, hand-knotted of wool and viscose, adds texture to RH Beach House settings.
