TUFENKIAN MOVES NY SHOWROOM TO MIDTOWN STREET LEVEL LOCALE

NEW YORK -- Tufenkian has moved its flagship showroom to a new street level storefront gallery in midtown Manhattan.
The 3,000 sq. ft. space is located in New York's designer district, at 919 Third Ave., between 55th and 56th St. Tufenkian was previously located in New York's Flatiron district.
The new showroom will utilize Tufenkian's signature display elements in a contemporary setting, according to the company
The showroom was designed by Clodagh, an interior designer who has a long relationship with the rug importer. It features bubbling troughs of river stones, a trellis pavilion of antiqued barn timber and a deep amber/orange floating wall that creates a focal point for highlighted rugs. Rugs are displayed on Tufenkian's horizontal sliding rack system. Clients can also access the company's proprietary "T-Gallery,€VbCrLf an electronic catalog of the entire collection. Storefront windows feature oversized samples from the Tufenkian collection.
The street level showroom is a key element of Tufenkian's new branding campaign, according to the company. The campaign includes a new brand identity, advertising strategy, and anaccelerated product introduction schedule. "Our New York showroom has long been the headquarters of our US operations, and we felt the time had come to reflect that status in its design, presence, and location,€VbCrLf said Barbara Fuller, Tufenkian's vice president of marketing.
Tufenkian said that sales are to the trade only. Consumers can browse the store and Tufenkian offers a designer referral service in the tri-state area.
