KOOL RETRO

The market is seeing multiple approaches to retro look. Some hark back to the mid-Century Modern era, others re-visit the wild-child times of the 60's and 70's. Almost every example of Kool Retro design combines at least one other important trend in the market -- from environmentally friendly materials to rich multi-textures to emerging color palettes.

Company C Birds of a Feather reminds us of the psychedelically-soaked sixties. Inspired by textiles at the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe. Hand-hooked of wool. Made in China, $710 in 6x9.

 

New River Artisans Studio 60 design pays homage to the wild and wonderful Pucci prints of the 70's. (By the way, way back then, Emilio Pucci designed a licensed line of rugs distributed by Stark Carpet Co.) New River Artisans rugs are hand tufted of wool with silk accents. Made in USA.
