NEW YORK -- With five new area rug makers expanding their presence in NYC this fall alone (read more), competition continues to heat up at the New York Home Fashions Market, where success hinges on offering the latest fashion looks.
The area rug vendors catering to the big box and online retailers shopping the market hit all the right style notes with their latest introductions. In fact, many of the latest collections and designs being rolled out in NYC allowed rug vendors to offer market buyers the opportunity to snap up exclusive looks based on top trends in the industry. Top retailer requests included soft and plush solid and patterned rugs, highly textured looks, updated vibrant traditional looks, tonal transitional and contemporary styles, active solids and, of course, subtle to bold abstract motifs as well. Fall market certainly had something for everyone.

Momeni makes its 30th Street showroom permanent and continues to generate interest in its growing Novogratz license program.
NATCO/CENTRAL ORIENTAL

Natco introduces Adore by in-house star designer Ozlem, who now gets her own label in the rug maker's line. The Adore collection features a soft yarn that mixes double-point and drop stitches for subtle texture.
NOURISON

Nourison adds many softer pastels and trending tonals to its offering for New York Home Fashions Market, but stopped buyers in their tracks with the digitally printed photo realistic Le Reve collection.
ORIAN

Orian Rugs debuts the Riverstone collection featuring a new uber-plush construction for shoppers at New York market.
ORIENTAL WEAVERS

Oriental Weavers packs fashion and value into Felicity ($99 in 5x8), a collection of soft, plush machine-made designs that scored with big box buyers shopping NY Home Fashions Market.
RIZZY HOME

Rizzy Home's bright Bohemian-inspired area rug designs from the machine-made polypropylene Princeton collection were popular with New York shoppers.
RUGS AMERICA

Rugs America fills much of its new showroom with the debuting CosmoLiving by Cosmopolitan license program of fashionable rugs.
SAFAVIEH

Safavieh's Winston collection, with its soft hand and antique patina, was a hit with buyers shopping the company's Broadway showroom during New York market.
TAYSE

Tayse had a strong reaction to its new machine-made Venice collection, which is on its way to being a 2018 success story based on NY buyers' response.
