BOKARA TAPS DESIGNER JARRET YOSHIDA FOR FIRST LICENSED RUGS, SETS DEBUT FOR HIGH POINT MARKET

Bokara Rug will introduce 20 designs in collaboration with interior designer Jarret Yoshida, including the metallic-flecked Ice Crystals hand-knotted rug above, at High Point Market.

NEW YORK -- Bokara Rug announces the High Point launch of its first-ever licensed area rug collection at the upcoming High Point Market. The line, by New York-based interior designer Jarret Yoshida, will premiere at Bokara's Historic Market Square showroom (204, 210), with Yoshida on hand to meet and greet customers from Oct. 12 through Oct. 15.

"Jarret has traveled the world to develop his distinct style," said Jan Soleimani, Bokara principal, in making the announcement. "Having lived all over the US and studied overseas in Tokyo and Paris, his work understands the formality of traditional architecture while adapting to a more relaxed and casual American aesthetic."

The debut collection, inspired by the creativity Yoshida sees in the work of his design peers in the fashion and architecture worlds, includes 10 designs, each in several colorways and in three categories:

The Jarret Yoshida Collection is hand knotted from India with 100- and 110-Tibetan knot techniques of 60 percent wool, 15 percent real silk, 5 percent linen and 20 percent cotton.

Jarret Yoshida Collection II is hand knotted from India with a 60 Tibetan knot technique of 60 percent wool, 15 percent real silk, 5 percent linen and 20 percent cotton.

Jarret Yoshida Collection Hand Tufted is crafted in India of 80 percent wool and 20 percent cotton.

Yoshida's rug designs are inspired by his love of art and nature: the quiet harmony of Japanese aesthetics and the warmth and welcome of his Hawaiian childhood home. "His understanding of how the natural world affects our lives, how nature makes for its own design and his deep love of art has been translated into graphic and bold rug schemes," Soleimani continued. "Jarret looks to bring a melding of all these elements into our customer's homes through this thoughtful, creative process."

The program will be offered in standard sizes from 6x9 to 12x18 and custom sizes are offered for custom orders.
